Was the holiday season the right time for The Spirit to be released. Most people want family movies during the holiday season, and the spirit isnt really a family movie with all the female seduction going on in the film. I think it could have done better with a different release date like an March or early July type release. But we will see how it does this weekend.

Thats exactly what I thought when i looked at all the other xmas releases this year, then there was The Spirit. I was thinking it could take that Cloverfield week of last year, and it would fit in there in January, but i dont know about July with all the summer blockbusters.

Isnt this around the time Sin City came out? That did pretty well. (If not then oh oops) I think the Spirit will hold its own in holiday season, it propaply could have done better in March or April, but I think it will do well on its xmas release.

No time is the right time for Spirit, they should have just stopped after Sin City. How much they spent on advertisements and others its a shame that they could only manage about 9 million, Lionsgate has to be pissed after this.

Maybe earlier in the year would have been the right time. August or September, xmas is a time for families and this wasnt an family movie.

I wouldnt have done amazingly well in any spot, but its would bomb amazingly horrible in a christmas spot which it did.
